Monthly afternoon training for actors who have the foundations and want to apply them to complex character and text work. You work on assigned character, genre and style scenes with a partner, building a character that is specific and believable while still responding to what's truthfully happening between you.

What we work on
Script analysis, character skills, and scenes on their feet. Actors practise inhabiting what Meisner called 'impediments', changes to your natural behaviour. Once the foundations of character work are embedded, you will work on scenes which require specificity and the ability to 'transform'. Some scenes are sent out in advance and some are worked on unseen. I decide class by class and actor by actor, depending on what each person needs. Actors will be expected to commit to practice and rehearsal outside of this class.
The Monthly Technique Class runs in the same room from 10am. You can book both: the morning warms up the 'muscle' of this technique, while the afternoon stretches it.
